Orange and Fennel Salad and One of my Favorite Nutrition Apps (Fooducate)

by Meri on March 25, 2013

The last few weeks I’ve had some great opportunities to write a few guest blog posts for some outstanding companies. I love collaborating with others and sharing products and recipes that can really help facilitate healthy choices. One of those companies is Fooducate. I am a huge proponent for nutrition information being something that is practical and helps individuals make real changes. In my opinion, Fooducate has one of the most useful nutrition apps out there and I’m not paid a dime to say so.

The app allows you to scan the bar code on a food item in the store and provides the basic nutrient information, provides a grade based on the nutrients and additives, and gives you important information about the preservatives and additives used in the food (one of the most unique and useful features). For instance, ever see “natural flavorings” on your food package? They’ll tell you precisely what that means for that particular food item so you can make the best choices for your family. They also have a health tracker as well. Cool stuff.

It was an honor to write a guest post for them and I’m always excited to let others know about this tool. Check out my guest post for the simple and tasty Orange and Fennel Salad!

While your there…download the app!

I downloaded the app and can’t wait to try it the next time I go shopping. I already tested it on a couple of food items close at hand. Thank you for the recommendation!!
